When you buy the American-made 2019 Jeep® Cherokee, you’ll get rugged capability, efficient power, and practical yet stylish features. According to the annual Cars.com American-Made Index, you’ll also get a vehicle that ranks as the No. 1 most-American ride on the market.

“We are especially pleased to celebrate Cherokee’s place as the most American vehicle on Cars.com’s American-Made Index for the second consecutive year,” said Jim Morrison, the head of Jeep® Brand – North America. “We salute the dedicated employees who build the Cherokee, the most capable midsize SUV on the planet, as well as all the loyal Jeep® owners who drive it.”

American-Made Criteria

To arrive at its rankings, Cars.com uses five factors to assess the “American-ness” of vehicle models and how they impact the national economy:

  • Assembly location
  • U.S. factory jobs provided
  • Domestic parts used
  • Engine sourcing
  • Transmission sourcing

The 2019 Jeep® Cherokee, which is assembled in Belvidere, Illinois, performed well in these categories to earn its spot at the top of the list.

Along with its positive impact on the American economy, the Cherokee also boasts an available new 2.0-liter inline-four turbo engine that gets up to 31 mpg, a refreshed exterior design, and helpful standard features like LED headlamps and Apple CarPlay®.
